Two Indian seafarers remain missing after a tanker carrying 11 Indian crew members came under a drone attack at Sohar Anchorage in Oman on October 11.
The Nicaragua-flagged tanker MT Petro Dolphin was targeted in the incident. Nine of the Indian crew members have been rescued and are safe, while search-and-rescue operations by the local Coast Guard are continuing to locate the two missing personnel.
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed the attack and said Indian authorities are coordinating closely with local agencies to support the ongoing rescue efforts and ensure every possible action is taken to locate the missing seafarers.

The Embassy of India in Muscat said it is closely monitoring the situation involving the tanker and remains in continuous contact with the concerned authorities.
The incident follows another attack on a commercial vessel carrying Indian crew members off Oman earlier this month. On October 6, the Panama-flagged MT On Peace was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. That vessel had 19 crew members, including 17 Indian nationals, of whom 12 were injured, including 11 Indians. India condemned the attack and described the continued targeting of commercial shipping in the region as a cause of deep concern, calling for an immediate halt to such incidents and the restoration of safe navigation through international waterways.
