Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri Wins Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD — Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the 72nd Miss World pageant held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday. The event, a vibrant showcase of global talent and culture, saw Chuangsri receive the crown from Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, marking the end of a month-long competition filled with cultural exchange and challenging contests.

The grand finale, hosted by former Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle and Indian television personality Sachiin Kumbhar, featured 108 contestants from around the world. The competition progressed through various stages, including fast-track events like the Head to Head Challenge, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent, Sports, and Multimedia. These rounds narrowed the field to 40 quarterfinalists, then to a Top 10 from each continental group, followed by a Top 5, Top 2, and ultimately, the crowning of Chuangsri.

The evening combined glamour with intellectual rigor, as finalists faced thought-provoking questions from a distinguished panel of judges. Actor Rana Daggubati challenged Miss Ethiopia Hasset Dereje Admassu on redefining perceptions of beauty pageants. She responded, “Miss World is more than beauty. I’m the first-ever Ethiopian to reach this stage. It’s about purpose, and it matters to mothers and children across the world.” Similarly, actor Sonu Sood asked Chuangsri about the lessons of storytelling and personal responsibility, to which she replied, “I’ve learned we must become people our loved ones look up to. No matter how far we go, our actions should always speak louder.”

Each continental group produced a winner after a rapid-fire 45-second round where contestants explained why they deserved the crown. The continental queens were Miss Martinique (Americas and Caribbean), Miss Ethiopia (Africa), Miss Poland (Europe), and Miss Thailand (Asia and Oceania). Chuangsri’s victory highlighted her poise and commitment to purpose-driven advocacy.
