Meet Blue: Nvidia, Disney, and Google Unveil Adorable AI Robot

Ahmedabad: At the GTC 2025 AI conference, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presented a charming new AI-powered robot named ‘Blue’ on Tuesday. This robot is the result of a collaborative effort between Nvidia, Disney Research, and Google DeepMind. Inspired by the Star Wars universe, Blue made an appearance on stage, even interacting with Huang during the event.

“Hi Blue!” Huang greeted the robot. Turning to the audience, he posed the question of whether they could believe they were witnessing a complete real-time simulation. Huang then explained that this type of simulation is how robots will be trained in the future, revealing that Blue is equipped with two Nvidia computers inside.

Huang further emphasized the potential of robotics to address the growing global shortage of labor and highlighted it as a massive market opportunity. He projected that the world could face a deficit of at least 50 million workers by the end of this decade.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Huang, as quoted by Business Insider, stated that he was speaking without a script or teleprompter and had a lot of ground to cover.

A major point of focus at the conference for Wall Street was Nvidia’s upcoming lineup of next-generation AI chips. The company is preparing to transition from its current Blackwell chip to the more advanced Blackwell Ultra, which is slated for release later this year.

Huang also introduced two new “personal AI supercomputers” called DGX Spark and DGX Station.1 Both are powered by Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell platform and are designed to enable users to work on large-scale AI models, whether they have a direct connection to a data center or not.2

Beyond the Blackwell series, Nvidia is also developing its next-generation AI superchip platform, known as Rubin.3 Named after the astronomer Vera Rubin, whose work provided crucial evidence for the existence of dark matter, the Rubin platform was first announced by Huang at Computex last year. During his keynote speech, the CEO confirmed that the Vera Rubin chip is expected to be available in the second half of 2026.
