Khalistani Group Vows Shut Down Of Diljit Dosanjh’s Australia Concert

Toronto : Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s outfit, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has threatened to shut down Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Australia on November 1 in response to the Punjabi singer-actor touching Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan’s feet. By touching the feet of Amitabh Bachchan, the man whose words fuelled the 1984 genocide, Diljit Dosanjh has insulted every victim, every widow, and every orphan of the 1984 Sikh genocide, Pannun said in a statement.

The Sikhs who were burned alive, the women raped, the children butchered, their ashes are not yet cold. No Sikh with a conscience can perform or celebrate on November 1, the Day of Remembrance, he added. Dosanjh touched the legendary actor’s feet as he arrived on set. Bachchan, who introduced the singer-actor as Punjab de puttar (the son of Punjab) reciprocated with a hug, garnering applause from the audience.

Besides the threat to shutdown Dosanjh’s concert, the banned Khalistani outfit also wrote to Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, urging him to summon the actor-singer to explain his actions in light of the 2010 takht decree recognising November 1984 as the “Sikh Genocide Month”. Dosanjh, who is currently in Australia for his Aura Tour, made history by becoming the first Indian artist to completely sell out a stadium show in Sydney.

The Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikh authority, had in 2010 officially declared the 1984 killings as a “genocide” and designated November 1 as Sikh Genocide Remembrance Day.
Remembrance is not for sale, and genocide cannot be normalized for applause,” SFJ said in its statement, accusing Dosanjh of commercializing a month of mourning. The singer, who has not yet commented publicly on the controversy, is currently on a world tour with multiple international shows lined up through November.
