Iran Warns US Troops Will Be ‘Shark Food’ in Persian Gulf if Ground Invasion of Iran Is Attempted

Iran’s military escalated its rhetoric against the United States on Sunday, March 29, with a spokesperson threatening devastating consequences should American forces attempt a ground invasion of the country.
Lieutenant-Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, speaking in a video released by the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, warned that US troops would become “good food for the sharks of the Persian Gulf” if Washington pushed ahead with any ground offensive against Iran.
The warning comes against the backdrop of media reports indicating the US is weighing the deployment of approximately 10,000 troops to the Middle East a move widely interpreted as a potential precursor to a ground operation targeting Iran.
Zolfaghari also took direct aim at US President Donald Trump, describing him as a pawn of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and accused him of marching the US Army into what he called “a deadly quagmire.”
Dismissing any American ambition to seize Iranian territory as nothing more than a fantasy, the spokesperson asserted that the Islamic Republic’s armed forces have long anticipated such aggression and are prepared to meet it. He warned that any occupation attempt would result in nothing but “humiliating captivity, dismemberment, and the disappearance of the aggressors.”
The exchange is the latest in an escalating war of words between Tehran and Washington, as both nations continue trading blows beyond the battlefield while the broader conflict across West Asia shows no signs of cooling.
