Trump Mocks Iran’s Missile Strike on US Base as ‘Very Weak’

Washington- US President Donald Trump downplayed an Iranian missile attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, describing it as a “very weak” retaliation for US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. In a post on Truth Social, Trump reported that Iran launched 14 missiles, with 13 intercepted and one allowed to proceed as it posed no threat.

“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured,” Trump stated, emphasizing that no American or Qatari personnel were harmed and damage was minimal. He expressed hope that the attack marked the end of hostilities, urging Iran and Israel to pursue “Peace and Harmony” in the region.

Qatar confirmed it had prior warning from Iran, enabling its air defense systems to neutralize the missiles effectively. Iran’s military had earlier vowed “serious, unpredictable consequences” for the US following American B-2 bomber strikes on its nuclear sites. Tehran consulted with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the attack, seeking support for its response.

Iran’s Operation Besharat Fatah was framed as a countermeasure to what it called an “aggressive and shameless” US assault on its nuclear infrastructure. Despite the strike, Trump signaled no immediate US retaliation, instead advocating for de-escalation. The sources noted that Iran informed Qatar in advance to minimize casualties, suggesting a calculated move to avoid further escalation.
