“Kabhi India Aa Ke Dekho”,Iran Defends India Over ‘Hell-Hole’ Remark

New Delhi: A diplomatic exchange unfolded after US President Donald Trump shared a social media post that described India and China as “hell-holes,” triggering criticism from multiple quarters. According to NDTV, Iran’s Consulate General in Mumbai reacted with a pointed and sarcastic response, suggesting that Trump could benefit from a “cultural detox.”
The controversy began when Trump reposted content on his platform that included derogatory remarks about several countries while discussing changes to US birthright citizenship laws. The post quickly drew backlash, including from Indian authorities, who termed the comments inappropriate and poorly judged.
In response, Iran’s diplomatic mission took to social media platform X and shared a video highlighting Maharashtra’s diverse cultural and geographical richness. The post implied that exposure to such cultural depth might help counter what it described as Trump’s misguided perspective.
Using a mix of humour and criticism, the consulate remarked that a “one-way cultural detox” could help reduce what it referred to as “random bakwaas,” while also inviting Trump to visit India and experience its reality firsthand. The phrase “Kabhi India aa ke dekho” which simply means “Come visit India sometime” underscored the tone of the response.
The exchange reflects a broader diplomatic reaction to Trump’s remarks, which have sparked international debate over political rhetoric and cultural sensitivity. Iran’s response, while informal in tone, highlighted the significance of respecting historical and cultural identities in global discourse.
The episode adds to the ongoing tensions surrounding Trump’s statements on international issues, as reactions continue to emerge from governments and public figures alike.
