Manama: Citing Financial Times, Reuters reported that Iran attacked Amazon’s cloud computing business in Bahrain on Wednesday.
Bahrain’s interior ministry has earlier informed that the company was set on fire following an Iranian attack and the civil defence teams extinguished the blaze.
However, the ministry did not disclose the name of the company that has been set on fire by Iran and refrained from rendering any number of casualties or the extent of damage.
The strike took place after the IRGC warned US Tech Giants that they will have to face the wrath, given the list of 18 companies.
Amazon is yet to respond about the matter. Last week as well, Amazon web services were disrupted by the ongoing conflict in the middle east which marked the second time in the month when the E-commerce giant’s operations got stuck due to war.
An Amazon spokesperson has told Reuters that the disruption was because of the drone activity in the area. The company is further seeking to relocate in some other AWS regions while the Bahrain region recovers, even though the company restricted itself to give any details about the damage caused.
Amazon said, ” As this situation evolves and as we have advised before, we request those with workloads in the affected regions continue to migrate to other locations.”
