
New Delhi: India has strongly condemned the attack on a merchant ship off the coast of Oman that had 11 Indian crew members on board.While 10 of them have been rescued safely, one crew members is still missing and search operations are continuing.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the attack “deeply worrying” and said it is in touch with the Omani authorities to help with the rescue efforts. The Indian Embassy in Muscat is also working closely with local officials and is providing all possible support to the affected crew members.
According to the MEA, the government is closely following the situation and is doing everything possible to trace the missing Indian sailor. Officials said the safety of Indian citizens working abroad remains a top priority.
The attack took place in waters near Oman, a region that has seen several security incidents in recent months. However, officials have not yet shared details about who was behind the attack or how it happened.
India said attacks on commercial ships put the lives of innocent sailors at risk and also affect global trade, as these sea routes are used by ships from many countries every day.

The government has once again called for the safety of merchant ships and their crew members, saying that international shipping routes must remain secure for everyone.
For the families of the rescued crew members, the news has brought relief. At the same time, hope remains that the missing Indian sailor will be found soon as rescue teams continue their search.
The Ministry of External Affairs said it will share more information as soon as it receives updates from the authorities handling the rescue operation.
