Helicopter Crash In Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura Kills 14

According to the Saudi state news agency, 14 persons were killed when a helicopter operated by the Saudi oil firm Aramco crashed in Ras Tanura on Sunday.

“The Ministry of Energy regrets to announce that a helicopter operated by Saudi Aramco crashed in Ras Tanura on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at approximately 6:00 am.” The agency stated that all 14 victims were Saudi nationals. All 14 people on board, all Saudi nationals, perished in the crash, according to a statement from the state’s official Saudi Press Agency.

The agency stated that an inquiry was underway and that the cause of the incident was unknown.

“Investigations are underway, with the participation of relevant authorities, to determine the causes of the helicopter crash,” the state media reported. Ras Tanura is situated on the Strait of Hormuz’s eastern west coast. After operations were suspended for almost four months due to the US-Israel-Iran war in the Middle East, Aramco resumed loading crude oil on Friday at the vital Ras Tanura facility in the Gulf.

In anticipation of an interim agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran, Middle Eastern producers increased their output and exports of gas and oil, and Saudi Arabia, the world’s biggest oil exporter, joined the rush to shift cargoes.
