Elon Musk’s X Suffers Another Global Outage: Platform Down For Twitter Users

In a fresh blow to Elon Musk’s embattled social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter) experienced a major global outage on Saturday, leaving users around the world unable to post content, log in, or receive direct messages. The disruption began shortly after 6 PM IST, according to data from outage tracking site DownDetector.

At the peak of the outage, DownDetector recorded over 11,800 user reports citing problems accessing the platform via both web and mobile. Affected users were greeted with a “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” error message while trying to load new posts. The incident mirrors another blackout that struck the platform just two days earlier.

NetBlocks, a global internet observatory, confirmed that the outage was international in scope and not tied to censorship or connectivity issues within specific countries.

The company, now owned by Elon Musk who acquired it in 2022 for $44 billion, has not issued an official statement on the cause of the technical failures. The back-to-back disruptions have raised renewed concerns about the platform’s stability following Musk’s deep staff cuts and sweeping organizational changes, including layoffs of nearly 80% of the workforce.
