India Rushes Burn Specialists to Dhaka After Tragic Jet Crash

New Delhi: India has swiftly responded to a devastating air crash in Dhaka by dispatching a team of burn-specialist doctors and nurses to aid victims, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday. The move follows a tragic incident on July 21, 2025, when a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area, claiming at least 31 lives, including 25 children, and injuring over 170 others.

The Indian medical team, equipped with essential supplies, will assess the condition of the injured and provide recommendations for further treatment, including the possibility of transferring patients to India for specialized care, according to the MEA. Additional medical support may be sent based on the team’s initial findings. This response fulfills assurances made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed condolences for the loss of lives and pledged India’s support to Bangladesh, as stated by the MEA.
