US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has strongly denounced the recent explosion in Delhi as an unmistakable act of terrorism and lauded Indian authorities for their composed and effective management of the investigation.
Speaking to reporters after bilateral talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Niagara, Canada, Rubio expressed unwavering solidarity with India. He highlighted the professionalism displayed by Indian investigators, noting that the blast involved a vehicle packed with powerful explosives that detonated, claiming numerous lives.
“The Indians need to be commended. They’ve been very measured, cautious and very professional in how they’re carrying out this investigation,” Rubio stated. “That investigation continues. It clearly was a terrorist attack, and was a car loaded with highly explosive materials that detonated and killed a lot of people.”

Rubio emphasized that Indian officials are handling the probe adeptly, releasing information only when verified. “I think they are doing a great job of carrying out an investigation and when they have facts, they’ll release those facts,” he added.
The two leaders also touched on the incident’s potential ramifications for regional stability but agreed to await conclusive findings from the ongoing inquiry. While the United States has extended offers of assistance in counterterrorism, Rubio stressed India’s self-sufficiency: “We’ve offered to help, but I think they are very capable on this investigation; they don’t need our help, and they are doing a good job.”
Jaishankar acknowledged the exchange on X, posting: “Good to meet secretary Marco Rubio this morning at G7 FMM. Appreciate his condolences on the loss of lives in the blast in Delhi.”
The attack occurred on November 10 near the Red Fort, when a high-intensity blast in a slow-moving car at a traffic signal killed at least 12 people and injured dozens. Probes by national agencies have uncovered links to a sophisticated terror network, with further details emerging.
