Charter Plane Crashes In Alaska, All 8 Onboard Killed

Eight individuals were killed after a charter plane carrying them crashed on Thursday close to a remote radar post in western Alaska, according to the US military.

US Air Force Lt Gen. Robert Davis, commander of Alaskan Command, the Alaskan North American aerospace defense command region, and Eleventh Air Force, stated, “This is a devastating loss for our military family and the communities we serve.”

About 450 miles (725 km) west of Anchorage, Alaska, at Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site Airport, the plane went down.

The aircraft had two pilots and six passengers, according to Clint Johnson, the head of the National Transportation Safety Board’s Alaska region, who earlier informed the Associated Press.

After learning of a “aircraft incident” close to the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site, the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center launched a search and rescue effort.
