Late on the night of April 4-5, 2025, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted an infiltration attempt from Pakistan along the International Border in Jammu. A BSF spokesperson reported that a Pakistani intruder was shot dead during the operation.
The incident unfolded at the Abdulian border outpost in the R S Pura sector, according to official sources. Alert BSF troops detected suspicious movement and observed an individual crossing the International Border (IB) from Pakistan. The spokesperson explained that the intruder was challenged by the troops but ignored their commands and continued advancing.

Perceiving a threat, the BSF personnel opened fire, neutralizing the intruder. The spokesperson added that efforts are underway to identify the individual and uncover the motive behind the border crossing. A strong protest will be lodged with Pakistani counterparts over the incident.

Official sources confirmed that the BSF notified the police, who removed the body from the scene for a postmortem and to complete legal formalities.
