Providence, Rhode Island – As the probe into a fatal shooting at Brown University continues without a named suspect, internet users have zeroed in on a former student whose online profile mysteriously vanished, intensifying unconfirmed theories about his involvement.
The attack on December 13 claimed the lives of two Brown University students and wounded nine others. Now in its fourth day, the investigation led by the Providence Police Department and the FBI has yielded limited public details, leaving the community anxious and turning to social media for clues.
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez has described the case as intricate, appealing for public tips while withholding specifics on potential suspects.

At a Tuesday press conference, Brown University President Christina Paxson addressed queries about removed student webpages. On Monday, the FBI shared fresh surveillance photos and video of a potential person of interest, alongside a $50,000 reward for tips resulting in an arrest and conviction. Earlier, authorities detained a 24-year-old man as a person of interest, only to release him without filing charges.
Officials continue to urge restraint in sharing unsubstantiated claims, warning that such speculation could impede the quest for justice in the devastating Brown University shooting.
