Bomb Blast at South Waziristan Pakistan Kills 7, Injures 16 After 54 Terrorists Killed In Major Operation | VIDEO

Peshawar: At least seven people lost their lives and nine others were injured on Monday after a powerful explosion struck the office of a peace committee in Pakistan’s volatile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to police reports.

The blast occurred at a peace committee facility in Wana, the administrative center of South Waziristan district. Police officials confirmed the intensity of the explosion was such that it completely demolished the building, trapping several individuals under the debris.

Hospital authorities stated that 16 injured people were brought in for treatment following the incident, with seven succumbing to their wounds. Some of the injured remain in critical condition.

Rescue operations were swiftly launched by emergency teams and local volunteers, who worked to recover those trapped. The injured are currently receiving medical care at nearby hospitals.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police and security agencies have sealed off the area and initiated an investigation, gathering forensic evidence to determine those behind the blast.

Pakistan has seen a notable rise in terrorist activities, particularly across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, after the ceasefire with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke down in November 2022.
