Flight AF750, carrying 375 passengers, departed from Paris Orly Airport at 12:01 PM on March 21 aboard a Boeing 777-300ER, identified by registration code F-GSQX. Despite extensive searches by both the crew and fellow passengers, the device could not be located. Given the potential fire hazard posed by lithium-ion batteries in smartphones, the decision was made to return to Paris for precautionary reasons.

Lithium-ion batteries, commonly used in phones and other electronic devices, are known for their risk of overheating or catching fire if damaged. Airlines have stringent safety measures in place, including restrictions on device charging and clear guidelines on storing electronics. The quick decision by the Air France crew reflects the airline’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety.

According to AirLive, the plane remained airborne for just over an hour before reversing its course. It landed safely back at Orly Airport at 2:06 PM CET, around two hours and 16 minutes after takeoff. All passengers and crew members disembarked without incident.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety protocols and promptly reporting lost or damaged electronic devices during flights.
