4 Injured in Vehicle Ramming, Stabbing ‘Terror Incident‘ at Synagogue in Manchester on Yom Kippur; Suspect Shot

Manchester: Four people have been injured in a suspected terror attack outside a synagogue in Manchester after a suspect rammed his vehicle into a crowd and began stabbing people on the holy day of Yom Kippur. Armed police shot the suspect at the scene.
The incident occurred outside the Heaton Park synagogue in Crumpsall, according to Greater Manchester Police. Authorities confirmed that the attacker did not gain entry into the building and was neutralized by armed officers.
Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, described the attack as a “serious incident” but stated that the “immediate danger appears to be over.” Speaking to the BBC, he urged the public to avoid the area. “Greater Manchester Police have dealt with it very quickly. And there’s been amazing support I think from members of the public and security at the location,” Burnham added.
Police immediately declared “Operation Plato,” a pre-planned emergency response protocol for large-scale incidents, including terrorist attacks. The mayor confirmed that police were called at 9:31 am by a member of the public who witnessed “a car being driven towards the public, and one man being stabbed.”
