In a shocking incident that has left a family devastated, a 21-year-old man in Greater Noida allegedly attacked his mother with a knife during a domestic dispute before leaping to his death from the fifth floor of their apartment building.
According to police officials, the deceased, identified as Sagar Yadav, resided with his parents and younger brother at Radha Sky Garden Society, falling under the jurisdiction of the Bishrakh police station. Family members had long described Yadav as mentally unstable, a condition that reportedly contributed to the sequence of events on Saturday.
Authorities recounted that an altercation erupted between Yadav and his mother inside their fifth-floor flat. In the midst of the confrontation, he allegedly stabbed her with a knife, inflicting injuries that required immediate medical attention. Moments later, Yadav climbed to the building’s fifth floor and jumped, police said.
Emergency responders rushed the young man to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His mother was also transported to a medical facility for treatment and is currently recovering, according to Bishrakh police personnel.
“The body was sent for postmortem after the completion of legal formalities,” a police statement noted, adding that further investigation into the matter is underway. No additional details regarding the exact nature of the dispute or prior incidents were immediately available.
