Nine Killed as Tourist Bus Catches Fire on Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida

At least nine people died and several others were injured after a sleeper tourist bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida early on Thursday morning. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.

The bus was travelling from Delhi to Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh when the fire broke out. Most passengers were asleep at the time. The flames spread quickly, creating panic among those on board. Several passengers managed to escape by jumping out of the windows.

The vehicle was seen burning intensely by the side of the expressway as flames rapidly engulfed it. Emergency services reached the location promptly and carried out rescue operations to assist the injured and recover those who lost their lives.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh monitored the situation, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, and directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured. He also instructed authorities to provide all possible assistance to the affected families.

Investigators are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire as further details emerge.
