The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, with women candidates achieving remarkable success in one of the country’s toughest selection processes.

In total, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to elite services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and various Group A and Group B Central Services. These recommendations correspond to roughly 1,087 notified vacancies, supplemented by a reserve list for any subsequent requirements.

Among those recommended, 299 are women and 659 are men, reflecting substantial and growing participation by female candidates. A standout feature of this year’s merit list is the strong showing in the higher ranks: 11 women have secured places among the top 25 positions, compared with 14 men.

Leading the women is Rajeshwari Suve M from Madurai, who attained All India Rank (AIR) 2 and emerged as the top-performing female candidate. Other notable women in the upper ranks include Zinnia Aurora at AIR 6 and Aastha Jain (also listed as Astha Jain) at AIR 9.

The category-wise distribution of the recommended candidates stands as follows: 317 General, 104 Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 306 Other Backward Classes (OBC), 158 Scheduled Castes (SC), and 73 Scheduled Tribes (ST).

According to the sources, the results were declared on March 6, 2026, after the personality test (interview) round concluded between December 2025 and February 2026. Final rankings are determined by combining marks from the main written examination and the interview stage.
