Hapur: A routine food order turned into an unusual marital confrontation in Brijghat after a woman allegedly confronted her husband over two packed plates of chhole bhature, suspecting that the second meal was meant for another woman.
The incident took place in the pilgrimage town of Brijghat, where Ajay, a resident of Garhmukteshwar, was reportedly standing near a local guesthouse waiting for an order of two plates of chhole bhature. His wife, Kavita, arrived at the spot with relatives after receiving information that her husband was allegedly meeting another woman.
According to Kavita, the second plate raised immediate suspicion. She questioned why Ajay would order two meals if he had travelled to Brijghat alone. She alleged that he had packed the food for a woman who was staying at the guesthouse.
The confrontation soon became heated, drawing the attention of people nearby. Police personnel from the Brijghat police outpost eventually reached the spot and intervened in the dispute.
Ajay, however, denied his wife’s allegations. He said he had travelled to Brijghat alone and maintained that he had gone there to get away from ongoing domestic stress.
The couple has reportedly been married for 14 years and has two sons. Kavita alleged that Ajay had been using work as an excuse to leave home and had allegedly been meeting another woman secretly for nearly two years. Ajay continued to deny the accusations.
The dispute eventually moved to the local police outpost, where officials spoke to both sides. After discussions, the couple reportedly agreed to attempt a compromise and left together.
Police officials said that neither side had submitted a formal written complaint or registered an FIR over the incident as of the latest report.
The episode has since attracted attention because of the unusual circumstances surrounding the dispute, with the second plate of chhole bhature becoming the focus of the wife’s suspicions.
However, the reported allegations of an affair have not been independently established. The available information confirms the confrontation and subsequent police intervention, but does not establish that another woman was present or that Ajay was involved in an affair.
The incident has drawn attention for the unusual way in which an everyday food order became the centre of a marital dispute in Brijghat.
