Four Terrorists Including LeT Commander Killed in Landmine Blast Along LoC in Poonch

Four terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, were killed in a landmine blast along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir while attempting to infiltrate Indian territory.

The incident took place late on Monday afternoon in the Nangi Takri area of the Krishna Ghati Sector. Security forces reported that the group triggered a powerful landmine as they tried to sneak across the LoC. The explosion killed all four on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Faizan, Mohammad Ishtiyaq, Mohammad Waqas and Mohammad Asim. All four were residents of Mandla, Madarpur, located in the Hajira tehsil of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. One of them was described as a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander.

The exact site of the blast falls in the Satwal-Naki and Nangi Takri stretch, an area long recognised as a traditional infiltration route used by cross-border operatives. This section of the LoC has witnessed repeated attempts by militants to enter the region, making it a focus of security vigilance.

The landmine explosion prevented the group from advancing further into Indian territory. Bodies of the four terrorists were recovered from the site following the blast. Security agencies are examining the circumstances of the infiltration bid and the network supporting such attempts.

The Krishna Ghati Sector remains one of the sensitive stretches along the LoC in Poonch, where forces maintain heightened surveillance to check cross-border movement. The successful interception through the landmine blast has been noted as a significant setback for the group attempting to infiltrate.

Further details on the background of the deceased and any additional recoveries from the site are expected as the investigation continues.
