The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is scheduled to declare the SSC (Class 10) results for 2026 today, May 8. The official announcement by the state Education Minister, along with board officials, is set for 1 PM, after which scorecards will become available on the portals mahresult.nic.in and mahahsscboard.in. Students can begin accessing their marksheets from 1 PM onwards.
Over 16 lakh students appeared for the examinations this year. Of the total 16,15,489 registered candidates, 8,65,740 were boys, 7,49,736 were girls, and 13 identified as transgender. A divisional committee meeting at 11:15 AM is expected to precede the final declaration.
The provisional digital marksheet will include key details such as the student’s name, parents’ names, date of birth, school name, roll number or seat number, subject-wise marks and grades, overall total, and pass or fail status. Students are advised to review their scores carefully upon downloading. Original certificates will be distributed later through schools.
To check results online, candidates should visit mahresult.nic.in, click on the SSC Result 2026 link, enter their roll number or seat number and mother’s maiden name, and submit the details to view and download the marksheet. Results will also be accessible via DigiLocker. For those facing website congestion, an SMS facility has been made available.
The provisional marksheet will feature subject-wise scores and qualifying status. Passing requires minimum marks in theory and practical components—for most subjects, 28 in theory and 7 in practicals, while Environmental Studies needs at least 18 in theory. Abbreviations on the scorecard include “$” for extra marks in sports or arts, and “£” indicating percentage calculation based on the best five subjects.
Grading follows a clear scale: Distinction for 75% and above, First Division for 60% and above, Second Division for 45-59%, Pass Grade for 35-44%, and fail for below 35%.
Maharashtra SSC results have recorded strong pass percentages in recent years, with 95.81% in 2024, 93.89% in 2023, and 96.94% in 2022. Last year, the pass rate stood at 93.04%, with around 14.87 lakh students clearing the exam.
