Speeding Scorpio Hit Sahil’s Bike Head-On After Avoiding Oncoming Bus, Mother Says Teen Driver Was Making Reel

New Delhi : The mother of the 23-year-old Delhi man, who died in an accident last week, has released a video claiming that it was a reel showing the exact moment when an SUV, driven by a 17-year-old, hit him. The video shows the teen racing on a road with vehicles parked on both sides. The reel, which is being recorded by the teen’s sister, shows the Scorpio passing by a yellow bus on the opposite side of the road.

The minor’s sister had filmed a normal video, which is under investigation. On February 3, Sahil was killed in a road accident in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka after his bike was hit head-on by a Scorpio allegedly being driven by a 17-year-old. The crash took place around noon near Lal Bahadur Shastri College. The minor, who did not have a driving licence, was later caught and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which sent him to an observation home.

Sahil’s mother, Inna Makan, a single parent, alleged that the teenager had taken his father’s Scorpio out with his sister to shoot reels. Speaking to India Today TV, she claimed the sister had later posted a reel online, which she said showed evidence of how her son died. Makan further alleged that the driver did not apply brakes even after the collision. According to her, the impact was so severe that it damaged a nearby bus and a parked car, while a taxi driver resting at the spot was seriously injured.

Investigators confirmed that all three vehicles — the Scorpio, the motorcycle and a car — were seized and mechanically inspected. CCTV footage from the area has also been collected. The victim suffered haemorrhagic shock as a result of cranio-cerebral injury. He also suffered injuries to his right upper limb and vital organs. The nature of injuries is consistent with a road accident impact. According to Delhi Police, the age of the accused is 17 years old.
