From ‘Suhagraat Express’ To A Moving Temple: Viral Puja On Train Coach Leaves The Internet Talking

New Delhi: Just days after the internet couldn’t stop talking about the so called “Suhagraat Express”, another unusual train journey has grabbed national attention. This time, it wasn’t a flower decorated honeymoon coach but a full fledged puja performed inside a moving train, complete with idols, devotional songs, priests and elaborate decorations.

The video, which has now racked up millions of views across social media platforms, left many viewers stunned. At first glance, it appeared as though an ordinary railway coach had been transformed into a temple on wheels, prompting questions over whether Indian Railways had allowed religious ceremonies inside passenger trains.

As the clip spread rapidly, reactions poured in from every corner of the internet. While many praised the group’s devotion and called the visuals “beautiful” and “divine,” others questioned whether trains should be used for such events, regardless of religious beliefs. The debate soon shifted from faith to public spaces, with users discussing where the line should be drawn.

However, the controversy took a different turn after Northern Railway issued an official clarification. The Railways said the ceremony did not take place inside a regular passenger coach. Instead, the organisers had legally booked a saloon coach a premium railway coach available for private booking under prescribed rules. According to officials, the booking reportedly cost around ₹3.08 lakh, and all required permissions had been obtained before the journey.

Since the event was held inside a privately reserved saloon coach, railway authorities maintained that no passengers were inconvenienced and no railway regulations were violated. The clarification eased concerns over legality but did little to slow the online discussion.

Interestingly, the incident comes close on the heels of another viral railway story that social media had nicknamed the “Suhagraat Express.” In that case, a First AC coupe was lavishly decorated with flowers to surprise a newly married couple, making the coach resemble a wedding suite rather than a train compartment. That video, too, divided opinion some admired the creativity, while others questioned whether trains were becoming venues for personal celebrations.

Now, with a temple like setup inside a moving train entering the spotlight, many users are noticing a growing trend of people turning railway journeys into memorable, highly personalised experiences. Whether it’s romance, celebrations or religious devotion, unusual moments on trains are increasingly finding a second life online through viral videos.

Still, not everyone is convinced. Critics argue that even if such events take place in legally booked coaches, they could encourage copycat attempts in ordinary compartments, potentially causing inconvenience to fellow passengers or creating confusion over railway rules. Supporters, on the other hand, say that if proper procedures are followed and no one is disturbed, there is little reason to object.

For now, the Railways have made their position clear the viral puja was conducted in a lawfully booked saloon coach, all permissions were in place, and no rules were breached.

One thing, however, is beyond dispute. India’s trains have long been known for carrying millions of passengers every day. Now, thanks to social media, they are also becoming the stage for some of the country’s most unexpected viral moments from the “Suhagraat Express” to what many are now calling a “moving temple.”
