According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, it is time to transfer duties to the younger generation because he can no longer work as much as he once could. Speaking at a gathering in Nagpur, Gadkari stated that he could no longer work as much as he once could and that the younger generation should now take on the obligations.
Gadkari’s administration then attempted to minimize his words, claiming that they were not spoken in any political context, despite the fact that they caused controversy in political circles due to their connotations.
“I can’t do as much work these days. When I could, I did it. My participation has now decreased. The younger generation should take over the work,” according to Gadkari. “The younger generation should take over the work.” Gadkari added, describing how his involvement in daily work has decreased, “A new generation has arrived, and the older generation is guiding them.”
“For the past thirty years, I have been consistently involved in public life. I have won numerous honors and experienced many highs and lows. The 69-year-old Union Minister said, But I can’t work much now; the new generation should be given a chance to work.”
However, Gadkari also discussed the upcoming development efforts, stating that the scope of the project would grow in the upcoming years. According to him, the goal was to guaranty that every tribal community in Maharashtra had access to power and that progress was evident throughout the entire state.
Gadkari’s office later clarified that the minister was referring specifically to the Laxmanrao Mankar Trust, an organization he founded that operates Ekal Vidyalayas, or one-teacher elementary schools, in tribal areas, after the remarks caused a stir among political observers.
The Union Minister’s comments were made a few days after the BJP undertook its first significant organizational reform since Amit Shah was the party president in 2015.
The BJP, led by party president Nitin Nabin, unveiled its new national team last week. There has been a major generational shift inside the organization, as seen by the 51 new members of the 65-person team. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and former RSS employee Ram Madhav are among the 13 national vise presidents on the new team. One of the party’s eight national general secretaries is Smriti Irani, a former Union minister.
The organizational reform has also sparked rumors that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Union Cabinet may be reorganized.
