NEET Paper Leak: CBI Probes Latur Coaching Entrepreneur Shivraj Motegaonkar Over Viral ‘Mock Test’ Video, Suspects Early Access to Question Paper

Latur/New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has brought Shivraj Motegaonkar, founder of Renukai Career Centre (RCC) and widely known among students as “M Sir”, under its scanner in the expanding NEET-UG paper leak probe. Investigators suspect the Latur-based coaching entrepreneur may have accessed the question paper nearly 10 days before the examination and circulated copies to several individuals, including an accused named Vivek Patil.
The investigation sharpened focus on Motegaonkar after a purported RCC “mock test” video surfaced online and went viral, raising questions over whether students at the coaching network had been exposed to questions resembling those in the actual exam.
CBI teams have conducted searches at RCC premises and seized electronic devices including mobile phones, laptops, iPads, and digital storage systems. Forensic analysis of these devices is currently underway to establish how the paper may have been accessed and distributed. Motegaonkar has been questioned multiple times in Latur and Pune, with some interrogation sessions lasting several hours.

RCC is one of Maharashtra’s largest NEET and JEE coaching networks, catering to around 40,000 students annually across multiple districts in the state.
Investigators are examining whether individuals within the coaching ecosystem may have had access to confidential examination material through alleged connections with insiders involved in the National Testing Agency’s paper-setting process. The case has already led to the arrest of Professor PV Kulkarni, a retired chemistry faculty member from Latur who was allegedly associated with the NTA’s paper-setting process. Kulkarni is accused of misusing that position to leak Chemistry-related questions.
