Mumbai: A bomb threat mail was received to Esplanade Court which is popularly known as Killa Court in South Mumbai on Thursday. Following which rigorous search operations were carried out and found that the mail was a hoax.
According to the police officials, an unidentified individual sent an email that claimed a bomb had been planted within the court premises which was set to detonate shortly. As soon as the threat was known, along with the local police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and other security agencies showed up at the location. The entire court complex was cordoned off as a precautionary measure and a thorough search was initiated.

The BDDS and police teams examined the premises and did a clear search of the premises. After an extensive inspection, no suspicious objects or explosive materials were recovered. Officials have declared the threat as a hoax.
Even the police have registered a Non-Cognizable (NC) complaint and have initiated an investigation to trace the person who sent this email. An official said, “We are in the process of identifying the source of the email, and further investigation is currently underway.”
