Manali : Himachal Pradesh, known for its scenic beauty has turned into a pile of Vehicles awaited for Traffic clearance, specifically Manali. Travelers are now facing major traffic congestion problems along with heavy snowfall. Termed to be “season’s first after nearly a three month drought has taken a toll on the daily routine of the people.
Due to heavy snowfall thousands of travellers have remained stranded with a long queue of vehicles between Kothi and Manali, witnessing almost 8 km of traffic jam as per the sources. More than 24 hours have been past as the aligning of vehicles began on Friday evening making the route standstill for travellers.
Authorities reported that 685 routes are presently blocked around the state. With 292, the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti has the most, followed by Chamba with 132, Mandi with 126, and Kullu with 79. Additionally, reports of road closures have come from Sirmour (29), Kinnaur (20), Kangra (4), Una (2), and Solan (1).
Since much of the Hindustan-Tibet Road is still covered in snow, traffic has been suspended beyond Dhalli, which is around ten kilometers from Shimla.
The Kinnaur district as a whole, as well as towns like Narkanda, Jubbal, Kotkhai, Kumarsain, Kharapathar, Rohru, and Chopal, are currently shut off due to high snow buildup, officials stated. Since an active western disturbance is predicted to continue impacting the area between January 26 and 28, the state administration has issued a statewide advisory.

The system “would remain active till Sunday,” according to the MeT Office, bringing further snow and rain.
Authorities in Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Sirmour have issued a yellow alert for dense fog and cold wave conditions, advising travelers to steer clear of pointless trips and pay strict attention to official recommendations.
