New Delhi: The verbal clash between BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das has escalated, with both leaders taking increasingly personal swipes at each other as the political controversy over recent student protests continues to simmer.
The latest exchange began after Das criticised Ranaut over her remarks on student protesters, questioning her contribution as a first time Member of Parliament and claiming that even leaders within her own party do not take her seriously. Ranaut hit back on social media, defending her public record and accusing Das of lacking any meaningful achievements.
In a strongly worded post, the Mandi MP highlighted her journey from actor to filmmaker, producer and entrepreneur, saying she had built a successful career long before entering politics. She noted that she had won two National Film Awards by the age of 28 and had spent nearly two decades in public life before becoming an MP. Ranaut also mocked Das, telling him to “start with learning some skill” before commenting on her career and public life.
Das, who previously worked as an investigative journalist before joining the CJP as its chief spokesperson, had accused Ranaut of making insensitive remarks about students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. He argued that her comments were out of touch and questioned whether she was fulfilling her responsibilities as a parliamentarian.
The confrontation stems from Ranaut’s recent criticism of student demonstrators, whom she described in harsh terms while accusing them of spreading negativity and disorder. Her remarks sparked criticism from opposition leaders, student groups and political activists, who argued that she had unfairly targeted young people exercising their democratic right to protest.
Rather than cooling tempers, the dispute has intensified over the past few days, with both sides using interviews and social media to attack each other’s credibility. What began as a disagreement over student protests has now evolved into a highly personal political feud.
The row widened further after CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke entered the debate, backing Das and criticising Ranaut’s remarks. He also renewed the party’s attack on the government’s handling of the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy, signalling that the issue is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
The back and forth has generated significant attention on social media, where supporters of both Ranaut and the CJP have amplified the exchange. With neither side showing any signs of softening its stance, the confrontation continues to dominate political conversations online and is expected to remain in focus as the debate over student protests and accountability unfolds.
