India Slams Pakistan at UN Forum over Jammu and Kashmir Comments; Reaffirms Jammu and Kashmir as Inalienable Territory

New Delhi: India issued a sharp response to Pakistan at a United Nations forum, firmly stating that the region of Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an intrinsic and inseparable part of the country. Exercising its Right of Reply, the Indian delegation criticized Pakistan’s attempts to use an international platform to raise bilateral matters, calling the move a deliberate effort to politicize the forum’s proceedings.

Rejecting Unwarranted References at the Global Forum

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the diplomatic exchange occurred after the Pakistani representative made references to the territory of Jammu and Kashmir during a session focused on global cooperation and development.

The Indian representative directly addressed the forum to counter the statements, asserting that such remarks were entirely out of context and served as an unwelcome distraction from the primary agenda of the UN session. India emphasized that its sovereign authority over its territories is absolute and non-negotiable under international law.

Calls to End Cross-Border Interference

During the intervention, India highlighted the persistent issue of cross-border terrorism, urging the neighboring nation to focus on addressing its domestic challenges rather than interfering in the internal affairs of others. The delegation reiterated that meaningful progress in regional relations can only occur in an atmosphere free from violence and hostility.

Hindustan Times noted that this exchange mirrors a long-standing pattern at the UN, where Indian diplomats consistently counter attempts to internationalize domestic territorial matters. The Indian response concluded by calling on the forum’s members to remain focused on shared global objectives instead of allowing multilateral platforms to be leveraged for geopolitical posturing.
