How Bhopal Sisters ‘Lured’ Women With Job Offers To Run Conversion and Sex Racket, Say Police

A disturbing case has surfaced in Bhopal, where two sisters have been arrested on charges including rape, coercion, forced religious conversion, and allegedly running a sex racket by luring vulnerable women with job offers. The accused, identified as Amreen and Afreen, were arrested along with their associate Chandan Yadav after two women aged 21 and 32 lodged separate complaints at the Bagh Sewania police station. Investigators said both statements showed significant similarities. Meanwhile, three other accused Bilal, Chanu, and Yasir remain absconding.

According to police officials, the sisters previously lived in a slum area in Abbas Nagar but had recently moved to a luxury residence in Sagar Royal Villas. Authorities suspect that the sudden change in lifestyle may be linked to illegal activities involving the exploitation of young women. Investigators said the accused allegedly targeted women from economically weaker backgrounds by offering domestic work with a monthly salary of Rs 10,000, along with food and accommodation. Victims claimed they were promised improved living conditions, but after joining, they were allegedly taken to parties and pub outings where they were encouraged, and at times pressured, to interact with wealthy men.

The complainants told police that they were allegedly forced to consume alcohol and narcotic substances, including MD drugs. They further alleged that they were intoxicated without consent and sexually assaulted. One of the victims, a beautician from Mungeli district in Chhattisgarh, claimed she was taken to Ahmedabad in December 2025 under the pretext of employment, where Yasir allegedly raped her. She also accused Bilal and Chanu of sexually assaulting her on separate occasions.

The second complainant, a domestic worker from Bhopal who worked at Amreen’s residence, alleged that she was raped by Chandan Yadav at a relative’s house in Narayan Nagar after Amreen left her there. She told police she was threatened with serious consequences if she reported the incident.

The case has also raised serious allegations of forced religious conversion. According to the FIR, one of the victims stated that Chandan Yadav allegedly told her he had converted to Islam and pressured her to convert as well, promising marriage into a “good family.” She claimed she converted under pressure and was later forced to follow religious practices against her will.

During the arrests, police seized mobile phones belonging to the accused. Preliminary examination reportedly revealed WhatsApp groups containing photographs of multiple young women, prompting suspicion of a wider network. Investigators are now assessing whether the alleged activities extended beyond Madhya Pradesh, as victims claimed they were transported to Gujarat and Mumbai and introduced to unknown individuals.

The complainants further alleged that they were threatened and blackmailed with photographs taken without their consent whenever they tried to leave. Additional DCP Gautam Solanki confirmed that a rape case has been registered at Bagh Sewania police station and said the accused are currently being questioned. Police are also reviewing financial records, travel history, and digital evidence to determine the full extent of the alleged operation and whether it is linked to a larger interstate syndicate. The investigation remains ongoing.
