A few months after being married, a 25-year-old lady was shockingly discovered dead at her Guwahati residence on Sunday. Police then began searching for her husband.
Police showed up at the flat where the recently married couple was living on September 6 in response to complaints from the neighbors about an unpleasant odor.
They also reported to the police that the couple’s phones were off and that they hadn’t seen them in two days.
After breaking the apartment’s lock, the officers discovered the woman’s decapitated corpse. Her skull was missing, her torso had begun to decay, and her fingers were half-chopped.
Riya Talukdar was recognized as the woman. Police found the woman’s head in a polythene bag stored in the refrigerator after examining the property. There was no sign of her husband.
According to the neighbors, they haven’t seen him since Friday. After that, the body and the severed head were sent for an autopsy. Her husband turned himself in to the police on Sunday night.
The accused’s statement is anticipated to be recorded by investigators, who will then compare it to the material they have already collected. The reason for the alleged murder and the circumstances leading up to the accused’s surrender have not yet been made public by the police.
