Man Allegedly Kills Wife and Four Children Before Suicide Attempt

A man in Gurugram is accused of killing his wife and four children before attempting to take his own life, in a shocking incident that police believe was linked to domestic issues.

The incident unfolded on Saturday night in Wazirpur village, where the family lived in a rented house. Authorities said the man allegedly poisoned his 35-year-old wife and their four children—three daughters aged 14, 12, and 10, and an eight-year-old son—before attempting suicide by slitting his wrist.

The incident came to light when the man’s brother returned home around 9:30 pm and found all family members unconscious on the first floor. He rushed them to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared the woman and children dead on arrival.

Police officials said neighbours had also alerted the control room between 9 pm and 9:30 pm, prompting an emergency response. When officers arrived at the residence, they found the victims lying unconscious, while the accused was discovered in a pool of blood. He was subsequently taken to hospital, where he remains under treatment and is expected to be questioned after recovery.

According to Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Turan, preliminary investigations suggest that the man administered poison to his family members before harming himself. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the woman’s relatives have been informed.

Police further revealed that the family originally hailed from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and had been residing in Gurugram for several years. The accused reportedly operated a salon in the locality.

Investigators are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the incident, with early indications pointing to domestic problems as a possible motive. However, officials said a detailed inquiry is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and confirm the cause of deaths.
