Ghaziabad Sisters’Deaths: Father’s 2015 Live-In Partner Suicide Resurfaces

The shocking suicide of three young sisters in Ghaziabad has taken a darker turn, with investigators uncovering the father’s prior association with a 2015 suicide and details of his marriage to three biological sisters.

Police confirmed that Chetan Kumar, father of the deceased girls, was previously connected to the death of his live-in partner in 2015. According to DCP (Trans Hindon) Nimish Patil, quoted by PTI, the woman died after falling from the roof of a flat in Rajendra Nagar Colony, under Sahibabad police station jurisdiction. The incident was initially probed as suspicious but ultimately ruled a suicide. Authorities stressed that no current evidence ties the 2015 case directly to the recent deaths.

The tragedy involved sisters Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12), who jumped from the ninth floor of their apartment in Bharat City Society earlier this week. The case continues to be investigated as suicide, with forensic and cyber experts analyzing key evidence, including a recovered suicide note, a nine-page pocket diary, fingerprints, and digital records.

PTI sources, citing police questioning of family members, disclosed that Kumar has three wives—Sujata, Heena, and Tina—who are biological sisters. Sujata is the mother of Nishika, while Heena is the mother of Prachi and Pakhi. Investigators are assessing whether this unconventional family setup and home environment influenced the girls’ emotional well-being.

The suicide note reportedly addressed the father emotionally, without referencing the mothers, suggesting a closer bond with him. Police reiterated that the sisters became deeply upset after Kumar seized and sold their mobile phones over heavy engagement with Korean apps, online games, and contacts abroad. On the fatal night, they used their mother’s phone but forensic checks confirmed no access to the restricted Korean content.

Cyber teams are pursuing the sold phones via IMEI tracking to potentially recover data, while forensic examination of the note and other items proceeds.

Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women Chairperson Dr Babita Singh, following a family visit, highlighted academic stress and parental oversight lapses, noting the children’s mental health concerns went unaddressed promptly. The commission has demanded a comprehensive report from local authorities and police.

Officials emphasized the investigation remains active across multiple angles, with no final conclusions beyond the suicide determination pending further forensic and cyber findings.
