Mumbai: Mumbai witnessed a large scale Ganesh immersion on Saturday as thousands of devotees continued the farewell to Lord Ganesha. According to the latest 12th day immersion report, a total of 34,806 Ganesh idols had been immersed across Mumbai up to 9 am.
The latest figures show that household idols accounted for the largest share of the total immersion count. As many as 27,649 Gharguti (household) Ganesh idols had been immersed by 9 am.
The immersion of Sarvajanik Ganesh idols also continued across the city, with 6,604 public idols recorded as immersed during the period covered by the report.
In addition, 553 Gauri idols had been immersed by 9 am, taking the overall number of idols immersed to 34,806.
