Disorganised PR Spectacle : Rahul Gandhi’s Pic With Organiser Of Shirtless AI Summit Protest Surfaces Amid Row

New Delhi : The Congress on Friday was in the eye of a storm over a shirtless protest allegedly organised by members of its youth wing at the ongoing India AI Impact Summit. The manner of protest by the youth Congress workers — sloganeering at a global event and removing their shirts — was sharply criticised by government ministers and other BJP leaders.

A senior police officer said around 10 people were detained following the brief disruption at the high-profile global event. The controversy intensified after an old photograph surfaced on social media showing Rahul Gandhi with Narsimha Yadav during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Yadav has been identified by BJP sources as one of the main organisers of Friday’s protest. BJP sources alleged that the protest was “not incidental, but orchestrated”, claiming the resurfaced image underscored links between the organisers and the Congress leadership.

BJP MP Sambit Patra alleged that the protest was planned at Rahul Gandhi’s residence in the presence of senior Congress leaders. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed the act “treason” and accused the Congress of tarnishing India’s global image. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi described the conduct as “shameful”, while Kiren Rijiju said the Congress had become a “national shame”, asserting that the AI Summit was a global platform and not a political rally.
