23 year old Riya Kumari Thapa was found dead at her home in Dehradun on Tuesday morning after she did not open her room’s door. She was the daughter of a Kargil war veteran.
Her mom had called her for lunch, but found that the door was locked from inside. She informed her father who immediately forced the door open, to find her daughter hanging. A suicide note was found on the scene which said, “I love you Mom and Dad, nobody is at fault for this’ in hindi.
Riya was a class 12th topper, scoring 97%. She was preparing for the re-examination of NEET scheduled for 21st June. She did not clear the first found. According to a senior police officer, she was reportedly irritated by lack of success in her studies.
