Bengaluru Woman Out On Walk Mauled By Pet Dog, Gets More Than 50 Stiches

Bengaluru : A woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a pet dog during her morning walk in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout on January 26. The incident took place around 6:54 am in Teachers’ Colony, reportedly in front of the survivor’s house. The dog, owned by a man identified as Amaresh Reddy, suddenly attacked the woman and bit her on the neck, face, hands, and legs.

Doctors attending to the survivor said she required extensive medical care, with reports indicating that more than 50 stitches were administered to her face and neck. A bystander who tried to intervene and rescue the woman was also bitten during the attack. While details about the bystander’s injuries have not been made public, both individuals received medical attention following the incident.

The woman’s husband filed a complaint at the HSR Layout Police Station, alleging negligence on the part of the dog owner. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident. Authorities are currently recording statements from witnesses and reviewing evidence to establish a clear sequence of events.

The incident, which took place at around 6.54 am on Monday (January 26) in Teachers’ Colony of HSR Layout was captured in a CCTV. According to police, the woman had gone out for walk when the dog, owned by a local resident named Amaresh Reddy, suddenly lunged at her without any provocation.

The dog reportedly first bit the woman on her neck and continued to attack her face, hands, and legs. Residents who rushed out of their homes to save her, met with further danger as one person who attempted to pull the dog away was also attacked in the process, the CCTV showed.
