On Wednesday night, a disagreement between a husband and wife in Bengaluru turned into a series of incidents that resulted in their deaths by morning. The pair, described as software engineer Padmavathi and civil engineer Sumant Jain, apparently got into a violent altercation.
Sumant allegedly struck Padmavathi in the face during the argument and then used a pillow to suffocate her. He discovered she had stopped breathing when he attempted to rouse her.
Sumant allegedly called his mother in a hurry and told her what had transpired before sending her a message out of fear of the repercussions.
His mother called the landlord as soon as she saw the note. Sumant was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in the hallway when the house was opened. Padmini was discovered dead as well. After being notified, the Rajagopal Nagar Police arrived on the scene. The circumstances surrounding both fatalities are being looked examined, and a case has been filed.
Both the specific cause of Padmavathi’s death and the exact order of events remain unknown.
