Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Rail corridor to be completed by 2029: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, is optimistic that the High Speed Rail route between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be finished by the end of 2029.

After evaluating many active railway projects in Gujarat, the Minister told the media in Ahmedabad that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is moving forward quickly, with 80% of the Gujarat portion of the project already finished.

The first operational segment of the high-speed rail network, which connects Surat and Bilimora, is expected to open next year, he continued. The network is being developed in phases.

Additionally, the Minister engaged with the construction staff and engineers at the Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station. He also examined important railway infrastructure and development projects in Ahmedabad during his one-day visit. The Omnagar underpass would be finished before the next Navratri season.

He also talked about the master plan for the reconstruction of Asarva Railway Station, which will turn it into a contemporary transportation hub with better passenger amenities and better city linkages, and examined the status of the redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station.

Plans to expand the Sabarmati Station Road and enhance access near Shahpur were examined in order to guarantee more efficient passenger flow.
