AAP leader Lucky Oberoi Shot Dead In His Car In Jalandhar

In a brazen incident that has sent shockwaves through Punjab’s political circles, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was fatally shot in broad daylight on Friday morning outside a gurdwara in Jalandhar’s Model Town area.

The attack occurred around 7:50 am as Oberoi was exiting the Model Town gurdwara after offering prayers. According to details reported by Hindustan Times, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, unleashing 8-10 rounds from sophisticated weapons. Oberoi sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition.

Subsequent reports, indicate that Oberoi was inside his Thar vehicle—either parking or preparing to leave—when the bike-borne attackers targeted him. At least five bullets struck the AAP functionary, leading to severe injuries. Despite being transported urgently for medical treatment, he succumbed to his wounds.

The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting, leaving police to cordon off the area and launch an investigation. No arrests have been reported so far, and the motive behind the killing remains unknown. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and gathering witness accounts to identify the perpetrators.
