30 Year’s Delhi Judge Found Dead in Green Park Home; Suicide Suspected

New Delhi: A 30-year-old judicial officer was found dead inside a locked bathroom at his Green Park residence in south Delhi on Sunday. Police suspect suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Aman Kumar Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority at Karkardooma Court in North-East Delhi.

Police got a call at Safdarjung Enclave police station at around 1.45 pm from Sharma’s brother-in-law. On reaching the spot, officers found him in a locked bathroom. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Initial findings point to death by hanging. Police said the investigation is ongoing and foul play has not been ruled out.

Family members told police that Sharma had called his father around 10 pm the night before, sounding distressed. He said he was struggling to cope. His father was in Alwar at the time; he left immediately and reached Delhi around midnight. The family said Sharma had been going through domestic difficulties for the past two months and was under serious mental stress.

His father told police that an argument had taken place at home before the incident. When the family couldn’t find Sharma, they tried calling him and heard his phone ringing from behind the bathroom door. They eventually got the door open through a window and found him hanging from a piece of cloth.

Sharma completed his law degree from Symbiosis Law School in 2018 and joined the Delhi Judicial Service in June 2021. He had been posted at DLSA, Karkardooma Court since October 2025. The body has been sent for postmortem. Police are recording statements from family members and others close to him.
