YouTuber Attempts Suicide Following Threats And Rs 20 Lakh Extortion Demand By Influncer Kirti Patel

Junagadh: A fresh controversy surrounding social media influencer Kirti Patel has come to light after a YouTuber from Junagadh allegedly attempted suicide twice by consuming phenyl, following threats and a ransom demand of Rs 20 lakh purportedly made by Patel and her associates.

What Triggered the Dispute?

According to available information, the trouble began when Kirti Patel stirred controversy by bathing in the Mrigi Kund during the Maha Shivratri fair held in Junagadh. Local YouTuber Abjal Sida went live on social media to protest against the viral video of the incident. Following Abjal’s coverage, Kirti Patel’s follower count reportedly began to drop and that, sources say, made her and her associates target him directly.

Abjal was allegedly threatened by Patel’s group, who demanded Rs 20 lakh from him, blaming him for their follower loss. He was also reportedly threatened with being falsely implicated in a sexual assault case, pushing the young man to the edge.

Two Suicide Attempts in Desperate State

Unable to bear the alleged harassment, Abjal Sida first consumed phenyl at his own residence. Shortly after, he attempted suicide a second time near the Bhadar river bridge close to Jetpur Navagarh. The YouTuber is currently undergoing medical treatment and his condition is being closely monitored.

Police Register Case Against Five Accused

Taking cognizance of the gravity of the incident, the Udyognagar Police Station in Junagadh has registered a complaint against five individuals Kirti Patel, Divya Savlani, Jashpalsinh, Hanu Chavda, and Viram Mewada. Police have intensified their investigation under charges of extortion, criminal intimidation, and abetment to attempted suicide. Given Kirti Patel’s repeated involvement in controversies, authorities are expected to take a firm stance in this case.
