The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, organized a program today (May 2), to inaugurate development works worth Rs.1,156 crores at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Vadodara. At one point of time as the Chief Minister was addressing the program, 2 women got up and started making heated statements about the Harni boat incident and government housing schemes.
Hearing the statements of the women, the Chief Minister told them that they had come with a special agenda. He told the women to calm down and meet him before they left. Meanwhile, the husbands of the women have been detained and are being interrogated.
When the incident took place, the police workers who were present at the spot made efforts to make the women sit down, but they continued to protest. The women, named Sandhya Nizama and Sarla Shinde, refused to calm down. They asked for justice in the program. They stood up during the Chief Minister’s ongoing speech, and said that they have been wanting to meet him for a year and a half, but no one is letting them meet. The Chief Minister got irritated and told everyone not to focus on the women, as they had come with a special agenda. After which, the people present in the program raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’.
On the other hand, the 2 women stood up again, after the speech of the Chief Minister ended, and started complaining about the Harni boat incident and not getting accommodation under the government housing schemes. The police workers present at the scene dragged both the women out. As per sources, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel told the women to meet him after the program ended.
