Woman Jumps Into Narmada Canal With Her 8 Year Old Daughter Over Unpaid Rs 30,000 Loan

Mehsana: A 33-year-old woman and her 8-year-old daughter allegedly died by suicide after jumping into the Narmada canal. Their bodies were recovered near the power station on the outskirts of Rangpurda village in Kadi taluka of Mehsana district. The deceased have been identified as Pritika Chavda and her daughter Pinal Chavda, residents of Makhiyav village in Sanand taluka. 

According to police, a letter was found at the scene along with a mobile phone and a bag belonging to the deceased. The letter reportedly stated that Pritika took the extreme step due to financial distress after not receiving Rs 30,000 she had lent to someone.

She also mentioned being afraid of her husband, Rasik, and hinted that fear and financial pressure contributed to her decision. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
