Vijay Rupani’s Mortal Remains To Be Handed Over To Family At 11:30 AM, Final Rites In Rajkot From 5 PM On June 16

Ahmedabad: Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has been confirmed dead following a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. His identity was verified through DNA testing earlier today. Rupani was traveling to London to visit his family when the aircraft crashed on June 12, claiming his life. The news has sent shockwaves through Gujarat, where he served as a prominent leader and held the office of Chief Minister for five years.

His mortal remains will be handed over to his family tomorrow at 11:30 AM. The body will be transported from the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital to the airport and flown to Rajkot, where it will reach Greenland Chowkdi before being taken to his residence via a procession through the city. Public viewing of the body will take place at his home from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral procession at 5:00 PM. The final rites will be conducted at 6:00 PM.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister C.R. Patil, and several other political leaders and dignitaries from Gujarat and across the country are expected to attend the funeral. Prayer meetings will be held in Rajkot on Tuesday and in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.

The passing of Vijay Rupani has left a deep void in Gujarat’s political landscape. Widely respected for his leadership and humility, he was known for his commitment to public welfare and responsive governance.
