Vadodara Municipal Corporation Plans ‘Pay And Park’ Facilities At 24 City Plots Under Various TP Schemes

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has proposed the development of ‘Pay and Park’ facilities across 24 designated plots within the city. These plots, finalized under various Town Planning (TP) schemes, are owned by the corporation. A formal proposal for this initiative has been submitted to the Standing Committee for approval.
The selected plots are located in several key areas including Sama, Harni, Sayajipura, Danteshwar, Tarsali, Tandalja, Atladara, Subhanpura, GIDC, Saiyed Vasna, Akota, Yavteshwar, Bhimnath, Gotri, and Chhani. Notably, four of the plots in Danteshwar, Tarsali, and GIDC fall outside TP schemes.
To prepare these sites for use as parking lots, VMC plans to install fencing or build compound walls around each plot. The leasing of these spaces under the ‘Pay and Park’ model will be handled by the Municipal Corporation’s Commercial Land and Property Department, following existing regulations.
Although a total of 35 potential plots were identified for parking development, the current proposal focuses on just 24. These plots are primarily located in residential and commercial zones. To ensure smooth implementation, the corporation will form a dedicated Parking Committee. This body will work in collaboration with local police to manage parking logistics and identify additional suitable sites for future expansion.
